Spiritual Benefits of Fasting:

There are a myriad of benefits and blessings in fasting and prayer. But the following includes some of them:

1. Fasting with prayer draws us into the Presence of God.
2. Increases our faith!
3. Sets the oppressed free.
4. Takes our focus off the temporal and places it on the eternal (the things of God).
5. Brings healing.
6. Brings revival to our hearts.
7. Brings a release of God's grace in our lives.
8. Increases our sensitivity to God, to hear His voice more clearly.
9. Gives us spiritual strength and stamina.
10. Your light will shine.
11. Is honored by God when done to please Him.

Isaiah 58 mentions benefits of fasting, when added to obedience to God:

1. God will satisfy your needs even in a sun-scorched land!
2. The Lord will strengthen your frame.
3. You will increase in fruitfulness!
4. He will meet your needs.
5. Your healing will quickly appear.
6. Your light will shine!  It will break forth like the dawn.
7. When you call, the LORD will answer!
8. When you cry out for help, He will say, "Here I am."
9. Your light will rise in the darkness!
10. Your night will become like the noonday.
11. Loose the chains of injustice and sets the oppressed free.
12. The LORD will guide you always!
